Onward!

Dear friends and everyone who participated in this trip, which benefited homeless people in five countries;

The bike trip is over; everyone made it home safe and sound.  The purpose of the Leap of Faith trip, as we mentioned at the beginning, was to bring awareness to homelessness and to the problems of the homeless in our societies and to raise money so that together we can change their destiny for the better.

When I look at and analyze the results, I understand that we reached our goal.  Many people donated and many people became aware of our work and many others were supporting our efforts, morally, spiritually, and virtually, following us along the way.

I remember one person who came to realize what the needs of homeless people are.  Previously, she only knew about homeless animals, and she helped them.  But after the bike trip, she realized how people are suffering on the street, and she now is committed to helping them.
Sincerely, I thank those who supported us financially.  I thank those who visited our blog and websites and supported our charity work.  I hope in the future we can depend on your support for the homeless.

In my thoughts, I revisit the events of those weeks.  And again and again, I am very touched by the sensitivity of foreign people to our problems.  They are willing to help disadvantaged people, no matter what country they live in.  And I have not lost faith that in our country, we have as many caring people who will offer their contribution to charity. We welcome your support in Kharkiv and Odessa, and in the future, Kiev. You can do this in different ways, through your counsel, your experience, your particular part in volunteer projects, by collecting clothes and food for the homeless, and through financial donations. I am very grateful for every expression of compassion on your part!

While this is the end of the motorbike tour, I am very happy that I do not say goodbye to you on this blog.  Instead invite you to participate in the following event in support of Depaul Ukraine: our board chair Olga Tseyukova has decided to participate in an unusual event. She is preparing to raise awareness and funds for street children and homeless people in Ukraine by swimming from the island of Alcatraz to the US mainland in San Francisco. In the past, it was a prison from which no one managed to escape through the rapid currents, the presence of sharks, and the low water temperature.  And our Olga decided to do everything to overcome these barriers in favor of street children in Ukraine.  She learned to swim only two years ago!  Also note an important fact: Olga will be the first Ukrainian to make this swim between Alcatraz and the US mainland!  Therefore, I sincerely invite you to follow this event and support Olga through the dissemination of information, comments on her blog, and transfer of funds, and this will be your way to share her passion!

Go Olga!
