Дорогие Друзья и Коллеги! 

Я хотела бы поделиться с Вами некоторыми новостями и тем что происходит  в Деполь Украина. Это просто информация для ознакомления.  Если у Вас возникнут какие-либо вопросы или есть какие-то предложения, пожалуйста, свяжитесь со мной.

Прежде всего, мы приветствуем нового директора – Владимира Балобанова. Он приступает к работе 9-ого сентября. На протяжении последних лет он работал с бездомными в партнерской организации. У него много замечательных идей о том, как помочь нашим клиентам и он очень рад работать в Деполь, где разделяют его ценности. У него есть опыт работы в сферах  связей с общественностью, сборе пожертвований, и он является  членом совета нескольких организаций.  В сочетании с его позитивным настроем, врожденными лидерскими способностями и вышеуказанными ценностями и опытом, мы думаем, что с ним у Деполь Украина будет светлое будущее.

Этим летом у нас была замечательная группа волонтеров в Харькове. С Польши приехало 5 человек на июль и август. 4 из них провели здесь месяц, а одна девочка осталась на 2 месяца. За 2 последние года у нас было 9 волонтёров, которые провели здесь от 1 до 3 месяцев. Некоторые приехали по одному, некоторыми парами или группами из 3-х человек. И они даже не переживали по поводу языка- ни один из них не владел ни русским, ни украинским. Это было так замечательно, увидеть, что эти молодые люди разделяют ценности Святого Винсента де Поля! Мы будем продолжать развивать эту программу, так что если у Вас есть кто-то на примете… :-)

Я хотела бы сообщить Вам, что в конце ноября я улетаю из Украины.  Моей целью является: помочь организации, составить стратегию и бюджет на следующий год,  встретить нового директора и помочь ему освоиться в новой роли и закончить некоторые  проекты.

И последнее, если Вы можете пожертвовать тёплую одежду, продукты питания  и какие-то другие товары, помните сентябрь- это самое время.  Наши клиенты очень ценят Вашу поддержку и помощь (особенно шапки, носки, куртки и подгузники). Вы можете принести Ваши пожертвования в наши офисы на Салтовке или в собор на улице Гоголя 4 во время обеда, который мы там проводим.

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

I wanted to provide you with some updates on news and happenings at Depaul Ukraine.  This is just for information purposes.  If you have any questions or comments, please don't hesitate to contact me.  

First of all, we welcome a new director, Vladimir Balabanov.  He starts with us on Monday.  For the past couple years he has been leading work with the homeless at a partner organization.  He's always had a greater vision for our poor, and he's excited to come to Depaul to work with people who share those values.  He has experience in public relations, fundraising, and serves as a trustee on boards of several organizations.  Combined with positive attitude, natural leadership ability, and the aforementioned values and experience, we think he will be able to lead Depaul Ukraine into a bright future.

Second, Depaul Ukraine would like you to know about Depaul International Week.  To commemorate the feast day, we will have a week of activities for our clients and partners.  We will start off the week with our Annual Staff Conference where we reflect on our values and our work. The theme of this year's conference is related to one of our organization's core values, "We aim to take a wider role in society."  We are exploring the relationship between Depaul and other NGOs, government, employees, and the people we serve. 

We had a wonderful group of volunteers in Kharkiv this summer.  Five young people from Poland came during the months of July and August.  Four stayed for a month each, and one girl stayed for both months.  Over the last two years, we've had 9 live-in volunteers who stayed for 1-3 months.  Some come individually, others in pairs or a group of three.  And no matter about language--none of these volunteers spoke Russian or Ukrainian! It was a wonderful treat to see that the spirit of St. Vincent de Paul is very strong among these young people!  We will continue to develop this program, so if you know anyone...  :-)

I'd like to let you know that my time in Ukraine is coming to an end this November.  My goals are to help the organization plan the strategy and budget for next year; welcome the new director and help him learn his role; and finish some risk-management related activities.

Finally, if you have any donations of warm-weather clothing or other supplies or food for our poor, September is a great time to make that contribution.  Our clients really appreciate your extra efforts and support (especially things like hats, socks, coats, and diapers).  You can bring your donations to our offices at the church in Saltovka or during the time we serve lunch at the cathedral at 4 Gogola.
